Message from the President
Ashley Salzwedel, Washington State

Dear Tri Delta Sisters and Friends,

Every morning right before I drop my kids off at school I have them repeat after me, "I am
brave. I am smart. I am kind. I am respectful. And I always play with the lonely kids." It started
when my oldest son started pre-school and it stuck. I had the good sense to know that
sometimes we need to speak goodness into the people we love and that when we do, they
often become whatever we tell them they are. The word kind is what sticks out to me. To Tri
Deltas, kindness has deep roots in our Ritual. It is the common thread that weaves our ideals
together. Truth, self-sacrifice and friendship are rooted in kindness. Our purpose calls us to live,
learn and lead which requires us to be brave, bold and kind. These phrases have come to define
us and let the world know who we are and what we do. It brings me to us. The Atlanta alumnae
chapter. Women in all phases of life who come together and celebrate our diversity, love
each other steadfastly and are the physical face of the word kind.

This past July at Convention, we were the recipient of the 2018 Eleanor Dorcas Pond award. The
highest award given to the alumnae chapter who has exhibited overall exceptional and
rewarding experiences to their members while promoting lifetime membership, offering
diversity in activities and reflecting a commitment to sisterhood and the Purpose of Tri Delta.
This is who we are and now is the time to join us and bring YOU -- for the first time or the first
time in a long time. We are privileged to get to build upon this incredible momentum and
recognition to make the 2018-2020 biennium better than ever.

I know there is a place for you here. Please be sure to check out our many interest groups and
engage with your 2018-2020 executive committee! We are working hard to provide you "your
why" and have exciting events planned and opportunities for you to get involved. More about
all of that at our fall kick-off event, September 19th. So mark your calendar!! It really is an
exciting time to be a Tri Delta! I can't wait to partner with you to continue our chapter's
incredible legacy and show the world #ourkindofkind.

Delta Love,
Ashley
